Hello Friend,
I know sometimes life gets hard and it feels like you're stuck going nowhere fast. Trust me. I have been there too. You feel like no matter what you do, you remain in the same spot. Time passes and you remain. . . stuck. And even though you try to ignore it, the feeling sticks. You can't help but feel guilty, because you "should be farther along than this." The feeling becomes even worse, when you come to realize that maybe you not only have remained stuck, but have actually moved backwards.

Let me tell you. . . you are not alone. I have felt this way before too. We have all felt this way before. Welcome to the club! There's like 6 billion of us! I'd be surprised to learn that not one person in the entirety of the world has ever felt this way. We are human! Sometimes beautiful, loss, and confused humans. But we are not alone. We have each other to lean on. We have our love for the things and the people we enjoy. Sometimes (okay, a lot of the time actually) I look around to witness the beauty around me. My room and all of the little trinkets that are me, that I was able to buy for myself at some point in my life. I hear my family in the living room watching TV and talking among each other. I get up to wash my hands and am thankful for the stream that flows down the faucet. And all of a sudden, I realize. . . why am I rushing? Why do I try to make things happen so fast? Why am I so insistent on moving out of my parents' home, when I know I eventually will? And I know I will miss them so much when I do. Why am I in such a hurry to go to graduate school? The programs will always be there. Why am I constantly going from one thing to another, thinking that my life will leave me if I don't hurry? What could be the worst thing that could happen if I just stop and enjoy my life?
When I am constantly rushing around doing mundane things or putting off goals that are really important to me, is when the stuck feeling hits. The realization comes. I can enjoy this moment right now. Enjoy the process of getting to where I hope to be. Take a breath and continue on this road. A year will pass anyways. We can work together for what we really want, but please don't forget to enjoy every single day. When I stop thinking too much, my hand finds my pen, and my pen finds my journal and my writing pours through.
My Fight Song
Don't let go of your dreams.
Fight really hard.
Fight through excuses.
Fight through the ups and downs.
Fight through other's doubts.
Fight through your own doubts.
Fight through your own self. Yes!
Fight.
Fight.
Fight.
And don't give up.
This bump? This brick wall? This feeling?
This feeling of stuck that is pushing you back, holding you back, weighing you down all at once?
Embrace it.
Accept it.
Why is it there? Why are you here?
Talk to it.
Get to know it.
Feel it all the way to the core of your bones.
And then?
Thank you.
It was nice to meet you.
Decide to move past it.
Every day is a new day.
Every day you are a new you.
The sun comes up and you are still alive, what a miracle!
Every day is truly a new day.
Every day you are a truly new you.
And this loving fight is just getting started.

P.S. I would love to challenge you to create your very own fight song! It will feel so liberating and right.
