In case you didn't know. . . and you most likely don't because we have just started this wonderful friendship. ;) I LOVE making videos. Ever since I was a youngin', I would force. . . well, not force. . . let's say kindly direct my cousins and brother to make videos with me. It could be anything from music videos to writing a script and filming my very own telenovela (Spanish soap opera). And I loved it! I loved the thinking process for making a video, I loved the planning, the directing, the acting, the editing piece, the anticipation of waiting on an upload. Well, except when the uploading would get really slow. Theeen, I'd get a little annoyed. But it was only a small nuance for an amazing feeling. Bottom line: I love video making.
When I was really little, like 5 years old little, I always pretended that I was giving the weather or being a news anchor. I liked to act out scenes from my favorite novelas in front of the mirror or create my own- with none of the drama left out (my mom's novela watching obviously had a big impact on me). My biggest dream then was to own a camcorder like the one's I saw people using at birthday parties or quinceaneras. As I child, I could never get my hands on one. When I reached high school, I saved up some birthday money and was finally able to afford a camcorder! Now, that I look at it it's big and bulky, but it was the love of my life then. It still holds so many memories. It is where I first filmed the beginning of a novela project and many monologues. After high school, I started a Youtube channel along with the help of my cousins. We filmed mostly music videos like "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black-Eyed Peas and "It's Tricky" by RUN DMC. They were so fun to do! Inevitably life and college got in the way and I stopped getting everyone together. Also, a lot of the videos were copyright because we were using other's music (duh, Maria)! Furthermore, eventually I lost track of the password and the videos I had helped make were see-only now.
Fast forward to now, and I realize that I have let this passion of mine sit on the bench. And I am calling it in to play! With the adventure of my kidney transplant and the start of my blog, I have decided that I should wait no longer. I should be that child again that loved to act and make monologues and all kinds of videos. Simply, because it makes me super happy to do it. So here we are! The introduction video to my channel on Youtube The Chronicles of Happy is born! I will be uploading parts of my story, vlogs, DIY crafts, maybe some recipes ('cause you know, baker at heart), monologues, and perhaps some really average singing. I think yes! My camera is not great and my editing system is not great, so don't expect anything super fancy. . . for now. But I already love this channel so much! To see my video click here and leave a comment if you'd like! I'd love to hear the story of your passion!
This has been Maria reporting. Over and out! :)
