Hello friends!
It's been a good couple of weeks of 2016! I always love a new beginning, a fresh new start. And trust me! I am very familiar with starting and starting and starting over with many things in my life (especially when it comes to healthy eating and living the active lifestyle). And that has not been an exception this year already. Lemme tell you.

So, I started very strong with the first week of Yoga Camp. I was getting my yoga on everyday, even if that meant at 10:30 p.m. at night. There was still yoga happening. And my 30-day smoothie challenge was going great too! I was whipping out bananas and pineapple and mango here and there, and chucking it into my Nutribullet. All was good and well. And then. Internet problems happened. Living in little old Lockhart, out in the countryside can mean spotty coverage sometimes and very limited broadband. For some reason, this past month we (my brother and I) ran through our gigabytes (*cough* brother and his sports stuff and Youtube watching). But I was determined to keep on going! I began doing Adriene's Rise series, which I had purchased in the fall and had downloaded onto my computer. I seemed to be making the practice work for me and I was so proud of myself for not letting a closed road stop me. I just took a tiny detour.
Now, being completely honest. There were days when I was coming home from work really tired and sleepy. The list could go on about excuses, but I stopped doing yoga this week. I just wanted to lay on my couch and go to bed early, instead of getting on my mat. Which, I know is not good for me, because I also know how good it makes me feel when I do yoga. I just have to get on my mat and do it! Even if it is just 10 minutes, or slight stretching, or my own improvised routine (I'm not so good at doing my own routine because I feel I get impatient with myself). But I just gotta do it, guys! I get so down on myself when I don't. And I want to continue exploring and building on my practice. I think it would help if I build some boosts throughout this time when I feel myself dwindling down. Something to say, "Hey, Future Maria! I know you probably won't want to get to your mat when work starts to get busy, but it will make you feel better. Trust me!" Yes, I gots to do that. Or have yoga playlists ready for when I need something gentle. Yes, I will do that. Thank you, guys! I just thought this out while I was writing. :) Hurray, for blogging!
The other things I wanted to talk about today is the 30-day smoothie challenge. This one has been a lot better! I have had a green smoothie everyday of this new year. I can give thanks to my Ma for this, because she helps prep me some mornings by making my smoothie. She's awesome possum. I love her. I haven't kept up with all of the smoothie recipes in the smoothie challenge for every week, but feeling that I am having a green smoothie everyday makes me feel hella good.
Now, I am off to make myself a smoothie and some super late breakfast. Hey, it's a free day today and sleeping in felt good. I hope your week is going great and lovely. Stay awesome!
Happy day,
Maria :)
